General Ledger & Tax Lead – Permanent

Location: Douala, Cameroon

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Perform account analyses to ensure the accuracy of journal entries and account balances, as well as compliance of all transactions with applicable accounting standards and regulations.

• Participate in the development and implementation of tax strategies, and assess internal processes to ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.

• Oversee tax planning and reporting activities, including the preparation and submission of monthly and annual tax returns.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Accounting, Taxation, Payables, or Fixed Assets, combined with experience managing an accounting team;

• Solid knowledge of SYSCOHADA, IFRS, and CEMAC Exchange regulations;

• Proven experience in bookkeeping, month-end closing, tax optimization, and financial reporting;

• Practical experience with BOOS/SUN applications, as well as advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Macros, Lookup functions, and Subtotals) would be an asset;

• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
