Contract Type: Short-Term Consultancy

About the Project Cameroon Mining Company is undertaking a major iron ore development initiative in Mbalam, Cameroon. The project involves the design, mapping, and 3D modelling of various critical infrastructure components, including a crushing plant, haul roads, accommodation zones, workshops, warehouses, and more.

Position Objective The Mining Design Consultant will be responsible for delivering a fully integrated, safe, and efficient mine site layout and infrastructure design for the Mbalam Iron Ore Project. The consultant must be capable of working independently on-site and delivering comprehensive 2D and 3D plans in line with project timelines and technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities 1. Infrastructure and Layout Design

• Develop a master layout integrating:
• Crushing Plant with 3-5 truck loading points
• Open Pit Mining Zones and Haul Roads
• 5 km Access Road (90-ton capacity)
• Workshop, Maintenance Area, and Fuel Depots
• Warehouse and Storage Facilities
• Accommodation Camp for 300 Staff (modular development)
• Truck Parking and Support Facilities

2. 3D Mapping and Site Visualization

• Conduct topographical and spatial mapping of the site
• Generate high-accuracy 2D/3D visualizations using GIS and CAD tools
• Simulate site logistics, traffic flow, and ore transport

3. Transport Logistics Analysis

• Strategically position ore loading points for optimal truck dispatch
• Analyze and propose logistics routes for efficiency and safety
• Deliverables2D Site Layouts in PDF, CAD, and DWG formats
• 3D Mine Site Model suitable for engineering and simulation
• GIS-compatible data sets and interactive site maps
• Presentation package summarizing design and logistical concepts

Timeline

• Mobilization: Within 7 days of mobilization fee payment
• Initial Design Submission: 4 weeks after site visit
• Final Deliverables: Within 6-8 weeks from project start

Candidate Profile

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in mining infrastructure design and layout
• Strong command of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and 3D modeling software
• Ability to produce technical drawings, simulations, and documentation
• Field experience in mining or heavy industrial projects
• Knowledge of Central African terrain and logistics is a strong advantage
