Key Responsibilities (not exhaustive):

Safely transport authorized personnel and deliver items as required, ensuring compliance with UN safety and security regulations. Provide basic interpretation between local language and English/French when necessary.

Meet and assist official visitors at airports or other entry points, supporting visa and customs formalities for smooth arrivals.

Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks and provide daily updates to supervisors on vehicle condition and fuel usage to ensure accountability and cost-efficiency.

Ensure the assigned vehicle is clean, well-maintained, properly equipped, and that all required authorizations are valid. Report any technical issues promptly.

Adhere to established procedures for field deliveries and accidents, immediately reporting incidents to supervisors for guidance.

Support office operations with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, managing supplies, handling mail, and paying office bills when required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Completion of secondary school education.
- Valid driver’s license and formal driver training in line with local regulations.
Experience:
- At least two years of safe driving experience, preferably with the UN, an embassy, or an international organization.
- Experience operating different types of vehicles (vans, trucks, etc.).
- Defensive driving experience is an asset.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Sound knowledge of driving regulations, protocol, courtesies, and local routes.
- Familiarity with vehicle capacity, safety standards, and equipment.
- Ability to handle minor repairs and assess mechanical fitness.
- Basic first-aid skills and ability to respond in emergencies.
- Proficiency in using radio, email, and telephone communication tools.
- Strong client orientation, responsibility, courtesy, and discretion.
Language: Fluency (Level C) in the UN working language at the duty station, as well as the local language (if different).
